One would have imagined that Buel\'s keen insight into human nature would have made such a mistake impossible, but it must be remembered that Buel was always more or less of a hero-worshipper. It seems strange in the light of our after-knowledge that there ever was a day when Hodden\'s books were selling by the thousand, and Buel was tramping the streets of London fruitlessly searching for a publisher.
